MESSAGE THERAPY

Picture
''Hi, I'm Peter. I have been a massage therapist since 2011.  My journey to become a massage therapist was in order to learn to heal and balance my body from college track and cross-county.  I have also taken 400 hours of yoga teacher training to help my understanding of body alignment.  My primary style of bodywork is John Barnes' myo-fascial release approach.  Myo Fascial release works on balancing the connective tissue which spreads throughout the body in a 3D weblike pattern.
Trauma, posture, and inflammation can create a binding down of fascia resulting in excessive pressure on nerves, muscles, blood vessels and organs. CAT scans, x-rays and other scanning tests do not show the fascial restriction that many people suffer from. Because of this, many people go undiagnosed. Fascial systems have a viscoelastic quality that resists suddenly applied force. To release locked fascia requires time and gentle pressure.  I prefer a two hour session or longer in order to allow the body's fascia to respond to the treatment.
